Jane dashed out of her school, clutching her school bag tightly to her side. The teacher had released the class late that day. “I hope I won’t miss the start of my favourite TV show,” she mumbled to herself.

In front of her, an old woman was trudging along slowly while carrying two huge bags of groceries. She appeared to be limping. Jane glanced at her watch and decided she had no time to offer her help. Instead, she walked quickly past the woman and arrived home several minutes later. Switching on the television, she sighed with relief when she saw the show was only just starting.

However, in the hour that followed, she found that she was unable to focus on the show. Instead, images of the old woman struggling with her bags kept appearing in her mind. “I should have helped her,” she thought regretfully. “I wonder how she’s doing now. I hope she is fine and safe in her home.”
